Ballater Victoria Week is an annual celebration held in the picturesque village of Ballater, Royal Deeside, Scotland. Established in 1987 to mark the 150th anniversary of Queen Victoria's accession to the throne, the event was also aimed at raising funds for the refurbishment of the Victoria and Albert Halls.
Over the years, the festival has evolved into a vibrant community event, featuring a diverse range of activities for all ages. Highlights include the Scarecrow Competition and Trail, Duck Race, Pet Show, Pantomime Horse Trials, Discos, Sunday Parade and Fayre, Messy Play, Car Boot Sale, and numerous sporting, music, and outdoor events. The week traditionally culminates with the Ballater Highland Games on the second Thursday in August.
Nowadays, funds raised during BVW get distributed between various local causes, and groups and projects can use the week to fundraise for themselves.
